The holiday season is a time for warmth, joy, and gathering with loved ones around beautifully decorated spaces. That is why we are excited to shine a spotlight on this stunning table centrepiece featuring our Porta Nova Red Naomi roses and other flowers.
Seasoned Floral Art designer and teacher Ivan Bergh, created this amazing table arrangement as a Masterclass during a recent Floral Fundamentals photoshoot.
How can you describe Christmas and end-of-year festivities in Italy?
Christmas and end-of-year festivities in Italy are a celebration of tradition, family, and community, filled with lights, decorations, and seasonal gatherings. Floral designs play an important role, as they are used to decorate homes, churches, and festive tables. From elegant centrepieces to natural wreaths and nativity-inspired arrangements, floristry adds a touch of beauty and symbolism to the season.
If you had to give this arrangement a unique name, what would it be?
I would name it “Enchanted Stars”. This is a name that evokes the elegance and magic of stars, symbols of guidance and hope during the Christmas season, perfectly captured in the intricate floral design.
Give us a brief story on the making of the arrangement: and also the materials, and the floristry techniques you used.
This floral arrangement was inspired by the warmth of an Italian Christmas and the natural beauty of the season. The design features red amaryllis and roses for their vibrant color and symbolism of love and passion, complemented by some elegant wanda orchids to give more exclusive feeling also with Chasmanthium this lush greenery.
The arrangement was crafted using professional floristry techniques such as floral foam placement to ensure stability and hydration, a layered design for visual depth, and careful colour harmonisation. The goal was to create a piece that evokes both tradition and modernity, perfect as a table centrepiece or a decorative element for any holiday setting.
What excites you the most about working during these holidays?
Designing floral arrangements during the holidays is particularly exciting because it allows me to capture the spirit of the season creatively and meaningfully. Working with seasonal flowers, textures, and colors gives me the chance to craft designs that bring warmth and joy into people’s spaces, enhancing their celebrations.
