Josefien Goethals describes the Porta Nova Red Naomi rose as an iconic flower. She goes further to term the flower as a symbol of the perfect red rose; a rose that will immediately inject an aura of luxury and opulence into a room.

Looking at life through a Rose Flower lens

Recently while creating some unique arrangements with Porta Nova Red Naomi and Pink Barbie, Josefien shared an interesting allusion to the saying “No Roses without Thorns.” In this way, it rings true to life in the way one has to go through some challenges in order to survive life.

A Harmonious Ensemble

Autumn is a phenomenal season when Mother Nature takes a moment to rejuvenate herself. This summer creation by Josefien’s was partly inspired by having her kids around quite frequently.

“A bouquet where the rose and its rosehips, in beautiful transition colors, form a harmonious ensemble. Like the bell jar, filled with these magnificent roses and acting as a mirror to one’s soul. Paired with smaller bell jars, which are like little birds ready to sometimes fly the nest, yet also embracing the warmth and support of their mother.”

Symbol of Aphrodite

Josefien takes us on a dramatic journey through Greek mythology with this arrangement.

“The rose was one of the symbols of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, passion, and reproduction. Hence, the rose acquired a romantic significance. With its deep red hue, reminiscent of the heart’s color, the flower naturally evokes loving associations. According to Greek lore, the rose owes its red color to Aphrodite, who pricked herself on a thorn, causing her blood to spill over the previously white petals.”

My Red/Pink Barbie Bouquet

Josefien had a joyous time at the cinema recently when she took her daughter to watch the Barbie movie. A fleek that spoke to the hearts of both the young and the old with its unique message about equality and respect.

“Both of us dressed in pink – and me being the only one with a splendid bouquet to accompany this. Together we stood in the iconic Barbie box that was put in our cinema—time for a selfie! I realized at that moment when Pink Barbie met Red Naomi that, in the world of flowers, Red Naomi is just as iconic as Barbie herself!”
