Valentine’s Season is upon us once again, a celebration of love, connection, and heartfelt expressions. This, of course, means busy days for florists around the world.

Over the years, we have collaborated with many floral artists to create amazing Valentine’s Day arrangements. Besides that, we have also been part of some of the most iconic and eye-catching Valentine’s campaigns. From airborne roses to emergency love stations, here’s a look back at some of the most creative and inspiring Valentine’s Day initiatives done, in partnership with funnyhowflowersdothat.co.uk, that showcased the Red Naomi rose in unforgettable ways.

#Cupidrone: Love from Above

Love literally took to the skies in one of Valentine’s Day’s most widely shared campaigns: #Cupidrone.

A real operational drone, affectionately dubbed Cupidrone, patrolled above the storied streets of Verona, the home of Romeo and Juliet. As it flew, the drone delivered beautiful Red Naomi roses to couples and passersby, dropping each rose with the timeless message that flowers still carry magic. The campaign’s video spread online worldwide, earning millions of views and proving that even in the age of digital romance, flowers remain supreme. Through this short movie they wanted to make as many people as possible aware that flowers are still the most prized Valentine gift. According to The Dutch Flower Council over 4,000,000 people saw the #cupidrone video in which our Porta Nova Red Naomi roses were delivered by a special drone.

“For those who want to make Valentine’s Day special, Cupidrone shows that flowers have a magical effect on people.” Said Ivo van Orden, Campaign Manager at Flower Council of Holland.

Strong viral effect

Red Naomi roses were delivered to bloggers and editors of international online and offline lifestyle, fashion and women’s magazines under the hashtag #cupidrone. This helped to create extra attention to the consumer websites for the major target countries (Mooiwatbloemendoen.nl, Funnyhowflowersdothat.co.uk, Lajoiedesfleurs.fr and Tollwasblumenmachen.de)

Through Facebook, Twitter (#cupidrone) and video platforms YouTube, Be-On and Exponential the movie was spread to reach a wider international consumer audience. Totalling over 4,000,000 views.

“In Case of Love at First Sight, Break Glass”

Sometimes love strikes unexpectedly. That was the spirit behind Porta Nova’s “In Case of Love at First Sight, Break Glass” campaign.

Across romantic spots in Paris and Amsterdam, emergency boxes were installed containing a single Red Naomi rose. Passersby were invited to open these cases and claim their rose in moments of romantic impulsiveness. This creative stunt not only delighted locals and visitors but also opened up these cities for connection and expressing affection.

Command Cupid: Roses on the Streets of Paris & Berlin

In one of the most playful and interactive Valentine’s Day campaigns, Command Cupid took the lover’s day to the streets.

A modern-day Cupid, equipped with a high-tech bow, a smartphone, and a Periscope livestream, wandered through Paris and Berlin, handing out Red Naomi roses on behalf of admirers. Viewers could watch the surprise moments live and experience the joy as roses were gifted to couples and hopeful romantics alike. This initiative brought together technology, spontaneity and classic roses, reminding everyone that love can happen anywhere.
